The Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, defended the diversity and coexistence of different cultural expressions in the Argentine capital. Amid criticisms of President Javier Milei's statements about feminism and the LGBT community, Macri called such comments 'brutal injustice.' He emphasized that diversity is a heritage of the City that no one will break and that must be protected.
In the context of the Davos Forum, Jorge Macri rejected Milei's claims about gender ideology, going so far as to label homosexuals as 'pedophiles.' He stated that diversity is a social achievement and promised to defend it, although he acknowledged that some Government policies might not have the necessary votes in Congress.
The Minister of Justice, Mariano Caneo Libarona, announced the Executive Power's intention to eliminate the figure of femicide from the Penal Code. In response, Macri stated that while it is important to protect children, there is also abuse in different sectors of society. He advocated for a president who promotes unity in Argentina and criticized the establishment of new divisions, emphasizing that freedom includes the freedom of expression and choice of life.
